This project takes us to the crossroads of reality and an imaginary and dream-like - albeit plausible - world. As one grows older, it appears all too natural to look back, fleetingly at first, then more deliberately. What did I achieve? What must I focus on? What are my next goals? Such interrogations are kindled by a growing sense of nostalgia, of tenderness for bygone years.
This project evokes the transient nature of cherished memories and celebrates the universal human experience of nostalgia, a sentiment that transcends borders, generations, and cultures.
It deliberately embraces blurriness and crepuscular lights as storytelling elements to engage viewers in a subjective and introspective experience, to symbolize the constant flux inherent to the passage of time. This journey questions the (porous) boundary between reality and imagination and encourages viewers to immerse themselves in the less-than-well-defined beauty of distant memories. The blurred images become a metaphor for the elusive and often imperfect nature of our nostalgic recollections.
The goal of this journey is to explore and uncover some of these dark, lingering whispers of mystery, to offer pointers to a deeper reflection on life and its full realization.
This reminds us that nostalgia can be a powerful grounding force, inviting us to find solace in the impermanence of time.
